It was 1983 and the world was about to shift axis. A small Motown boy was about to emerge as the most influential pop icon of all time. Dressed in his signature black pants, silver socks, silver shirt, black-sequined jacket, single sequined glove, and black fedora, Jackson spun around, posed, and started moonwalking. Was it magic? He made people feel bad during a time when bad was becoming good. He thrilled and chilled the world by redefining the music video industry with a 14-minute, dawn of the dead like Thriller. It was the most expensive video of its time, costing $500,000, and Guinness World Records listed it in 2006 as the “most successful music video”, selling over 9 million units.
